CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS
International Summer School
«The Eastern Partnership: Current situation and possible prospects»
The Eastern Partnership Summer School aims to:
● establish contacts and build networks among young professionals from the EU and EaP countries, committed to improvement of geopolitical and geo-economic situation in the EU’s Eastern Neighborhood,
● serve as a communication platform for the exchange of young leaders with different views on the future of the EaP and thus help to formulate common positions,
● enhance understanding of main challenges in the EaP region,
● provide a platform for exchange of best practices,
● develop concrete recommendations and proposals for the EaP improvement.
During an intensive 5-day-school, participants will go through a carefully balanced program of lectures, discussions with top experts and practitioners from the EU and EaP countries, as well as practical assignments.
During the workshops, participants will work on a search for areas of common interest and then prepare a joint action plan. Under the guidance of professional researchers, participants will have the opportunity to carry-out their analytical project devoted to problems and different dimensions of the Eastern Partnership.
Time and place: 27-31 August, 2018, Belarus.
Working language: English.
ELIGIBILITY
The call is open for young researchers and experts:
● from the EU and EaP countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova),
● working in the field of international relations, law, NGO, social sciences,
● preferably aged between 25 and 35 years,
● command of English language. Knowledge of Russian language is highly welcomed.
ORGANIZERS AND SUPPORTERS
The School is organized by the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, in cooperation with Belarusian State University, Faculty of International Relations; the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
PROCESS OF APPLICATION

Short listed candidates will be contacted till August 12, 2018.
CV and motivation letter has to be provided for a successful submission of the application form. Motivation letter should consist of a personal statement no longer than a page and relate directly to the topic of this year’s International Summer School.
Application deadline: July 30, 2018. All applications after the deadline won’t be accepted.
COSTS
All costs (accommodation, travel, visa, etc.) relevant to participation in the School will be covered by the organizers.

Предполагаемые секционные направления работы конференции:
— Россия, Польша, Беларусь: национальные истории и общие исторические проблемы;
— Конфессиональная история соседних государств;
— Белорусоведение в России, россиеведение в Беларуси: предварительные итоги, проблемы, перспективы;
— Славистика и поле славянских исследований;
— Источниковедение, архивоведение, изучение и публикации исторических источников восточно-славянских государств;
— История и историческая политика.
Рабочий язык конференции: русский.
Время проведения конференции: 4-6 октября 2018 г.

Обращаем Ваше внимание, что:
- Оргкомитет оставляет за собой право отбора заявок на участие в конференции.
- По результатам работы оргкомитета в срок до 1 июня 2018 г. будет осуществлена рассылка приглашений.
- Оргкомитет (при условии получения грантовой поддержки) планирует осуществить компенсацию стоимости проезда участников, организует бесплатное питание и размещение в университетской гостинице на территории кампуса в период работы конференции.
По итогам работы предполагается публикация сборника материалов конференции. Материалы конференции будут размещены на площадке национальной информационно-аналитической системы РИНЦ (Российский индекс научного цитирования).

INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE
International Scientific Conference
«From the Baltic to the Black Sea: Armenians in Cultural,
Economic and Political Processes»
Taking into account a broad historical and geographical context of the Conference, its participants will have an excellent opportunity to study the experience of interaction between Armenians and the other peoples in the region and to evaluate the contribution of the Armenian communities into the history of the region in the past and the present times.
Thematic area of the conference covers a number of key issues including but not limited to:
— Armenians, and other peoples and different ethno-confessional groups: models of interrelations;
— contacts between Armenians and peoples of the region through the history of the Armenian diasporas;
— the Armenian contribution to culture, science and arts of peoples of the region;
— Armenians in wars and military conflicts in the region;
— the relationship between Armenia and the countries of the region in the Soviet period;
— international cooperation between Armenia and the countries of the region at the present stage;
— the common historical and cultural heritage: key issues of historiography and source study;
— Armenian communities through the history of religion: historical overview and current state.
The focus group of the conference includes historians, archivists, museologists, arts scholars, sociologists, culturologists, scholars in international relations, and other specialists.
Conference dates: 15–18 October 2018.
The conference will be hosted by the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia and includes opening plenary session, a series of thematic sessions, panel discussion, and cultural programme.
If you are interested in participating in the conference, please send an application to the Organization Committee. The application includes a completed registration form (docx) and report abstract (2,000–4,000 characters including spaces) in *.doc or *.docx. The registration deadline is 15 July 2018.
We draw your attention that:
- As the number of participants is limited, the organizers reserve the right to choose the participants from applicants.
- Participants whose applications have been approved will receive a registration approval letter on their e-mails in two weeks after the closure of the registration.
- If needed, visa invitation letters will be provided to participants upon registration by the Institute of History, National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia.
- Participants are responsible for organizing and paying their own travel costs to the venue of the Conference.
- Accommodation and meals for participants will be provided by the organizers of the conference.
To support the participation of non-Armenian residents in the Conference, the Foundation for Development and Support of Armenian Studies «ANIV» provides, on a competition basis, a limited number of travel grants. A travel grant reimburses the cost of traveling to and from Yerevan. Applicants for travel grants are kindly asked to send their application forms and full texts of their reports to the Organization Committee. The travel grant application submission deadline is 1 July 2018. Applicants whose applications for travel grants have been approved will receive confirmation letter on their e-mails in two week after the closure of accepting travel grant applications.
